Jean and I went to Blakes for lunch yesterday (Saturday); Peter was doing "school dinners" for a fiver and it was Ox liver, bacon and onions, with cabbage and mash.
The liver was just superb, very tender, moist and tasty and to get such a good lunch for a fiver is superb value.
I was so impressed, I said I'd post on here to let everyone know they can enjoy it next week - Tuesday lunchtime to Friday (unless they run out of liver).
No cooking, preparing or wshing up, so if you're in Town next week, you know where to go for a great lunch.
Roger
Thanks Roger , the food there is really good .

I had my favourite of ham, eggs and chips Saturday lunchtime but it looks as if I should have taken up Peter's suggestion of the liver.... Peter certainly does the best lunch in Dover...
Does Peter do vegetarian options (or should I duck and cover now.....!?) I am trying to persuade the Old Man out again.........

Indeed he does - for one thing try his omelette, a Blakes omelette is not just any omelette....

Of course Bern, you could always have the Ox-liver, Bacon, onions, mash and buttered cabbage, but without the Ox-liver and bacon !!!
I'm sure you'd enjoy any veggie dish he serves up Bern.
Roger
God, I used to love liver and bacon!! But onions, mash and buttered cabbage also sound good! And omelettes are one of my favourites.
