I do not know about being slim but I do know that when you are overweight people seem to think that you have no feelings. I did not set out in life to become obese. I still remember a midwifery tutor meeting me on the stairs amongst the rest of my set, and her saying to me without any kiind of preamble "you're fat aren't you?" and dear Dr X banging with his fist on the desk and saying "Do you know how fat you are, do you, do you?" - well yes actually I do but it never stopped me putting in full days hard work with practically never any time off in my whole working life except flu twice and breast cancer.
Fat people are still valuable members of society - the only thing is that their problems are in full view, unlike alcoholics, or drug addicts.
    Sorry, rant over.
