  I lived in Suffolk for a couple of years where roadside litter was the exception in towns and countryside. One of the first things I noticed on my return was the amount of litter and rubbish everywhere which is even worse now than on my return. For some reason it now seems the norm for some to believe it is fine to chuck their rubbish anywhere rather than dispose of it in the appropriate place or container.
  
  Not having been abroad for years is there the same problem on European roads where there is a high volume of traffic?
