    Keith, if you mean that global jihadists might have an agenda to harm the West if they get to power, then you have a point there.

    The rebels in Aleppo have openly admitted that the vast majority of the 2.5 million residents there do not want them (the rebels). It's no secret that Alawites and Christians in Syria fear the rebels taking over, as do many Sunnis too.

    Wherever the rebels take over in Aleppo, the residents flee in mass to the government controlled areas. If those people in Syria fear the jihadists, then we should certainly not hope the jihadists take over there.

    Currently there is great concern among British Security about the numbers of British citizens going to Syria to fight on the side of the jihadists, and others going to Somalia.
    The belief is, they will come back as fully fledged terrorists and trigger off their hatred here.
