Mr Watkins.
Please can you tell the Forum,After The "Windsor Council were spending £40.000 A year on the Local Government Agency and decided to pull out of it as they thought it wasn,t worth the money and could be seen as "UNDEMOCRATIC" and no longer value for money.
Yet the D.D.C. Last payment to the L.G.A. was £12850,at A time of cut backs do you think that The D.D.C. should also stop payments now to the L.G.A.?

On the other hand -
"UKIP MEP Mike Nattrass says the Local Government Association is right to warn that a
wave of new EU legislation could hit town halls with a fines 'bombshell'.
The West Midlands MEP says the LGA should be praised for highlighting 'Draconian' EU
procurement rules which could force public bodies to pay £600 million in annual
fines."

Mr Newsam, you are right to highlight that but the District Councils could find that out just like you have without paying out big money to the LGA.

there seems to be a wide variation what councils pay for membership to this organisation.
would be interesting to know what the benefits are.

Quite simple Vic, LGA are doing the legal organisation for the retrieval of Icelandic funds & doing a good job.
Until they are concluded we will stay with them.
Their membership is reviewed each year.
