Yesterday morning my husband, Alan, was assaulted and knocked to the ground while walking along Frith Road - I hasten to say that this was nothing to do with Western Heights & Farthingloe.
Nonetheless, he was physically hurt.
It is a very short walk from personally attacking people to physically attacking them. Sadly, it is a way of life in Dover. Over the years we have had £15,000 of damage (2002 prices) done to our house; paint stripper poured over our car on another occasion expletives - spelt incorrectly - scratched across the bonnet and possibly enough legal threats from council (DDC/DTC) officials and former council officials to paper a wall of a room.
These have stemmed from my support 'unpopular' from the main stream causes ... from saving environmentally protected sites, to unique Roman Archaeological remains, from objecting over use of public money for a crony / nepotistic cause to fighting for and winning a Community Hospital.
On the Dover Forum, those who are against the proposed CGI development amount to three - Lara, Alexander and I and all three of us have been subject to personal attack on the Forum. Therefore, you can imagine what people said when they heard that Alan had been attacked - I quickly put them right.
Albeit, I have asked before, on this site, for those who are pro the CGI development to keep their discussions within that framework and not let their emotions spill over to personal attacks.
