  The proposed National War Memorial is indeed suggested for the old barracks area and is designed to suggest an extension of the White Cliffs when seen from ferries etc.
  
  I will not go into the enormous footfall such a memorial would generate for the town because most realise what a huge benefit that would be to both the businesses and heritage sites, others just refuse to understand as it would endanger their narrower visions.
