    The report makes great reading and thank you for posting this.

    Western Heights is a national monument; it does not simply belong to Dover. Therefore, it cannot nor should it be desecrated in order to provide profit for a few and sweeteners for the rest.

    Money certainly needs to be ploughed in but the sort of money required can only be gained from national or international conservation sources.

    In the past, there has been talk of getting a World Heritage designation for the site.

    Now that the site is seriously under threat, it is time that our Town Council/ District Council and MP - all of whom are our elected representatives, to remember that Western Heights is a national monument and to ensure that it is treated as such.
