i have looked at that link again, it is not that helpful.
it says that we can clear pavements and public spaces(whatever they are), it doesn't mention roads.
it then says that we can not use salt from the gritter bins and suggest that we use household salt and sand.
how many people keep bags of sand in their house?
i think it is wiser to clear the road rather than the pavement because if cars lose control they can go up the pavement and hit a pedetrian, whereas if a pedestrian slips on the pavement there is not the danger of an out of control car.
in the two freezes we have had so far i have witnessed the aftermath of 6 collisions outside my house.
