    They could have sigh on,I done 6 years all officers like men do it that way,most officers were not National Service anyway I was in when N/S was still going.Some officers I did know were doing 3years service but most like myself were doing 9years or more.I was in the Army before my brother he went in to do his N/S but went for 6years in the end By the way the house hold cavalry would not take N/S men that is why my brother went for the 6 years he was in the cavalry,most Blues MP were in the cavalry or Guards because their family had done it before them so none were NS all 3years or more.and even going back to the 1980s still alot of blue MPs had done time in a service.
