Fact is, Keith, the Government has not accepted the only viable and fair solution for local financial investment coming from local revenues in Dover.
It would have been the start of true localism, and can still be so.

And no, no political party in Britain campaigns for the Youth.
I have never come across a political party manifesto with manifest intentions to dedicate utmost priority to young people in our Country.
That is why we have a national average of over 20% youth unemployment, Keith.

And Charlie's "people's port" certainly offered no opportunity for any local regeneration.
It would have placed a £400 million local debt on the "local community", if the "people's port" be taken by its declared face value of "the local community".

Counting 30,000 residents of Dover, that would be like Britain taking on a £1 trillion debt.
    We already have one!
Of-course the Government saw through it, which is why they never bothered putting up the "people's port" to a public consultation.
