This must be the bottom line of all DPPT official statements.
Lower than that you cannot get.
To publicise a view that MyFerry is trying to take over the Port of Dover by driving the other ferry operators into bankruptcy, is the most definite proof that we have here of what DPPT really stands for.
And perhaps the fact MyFerry is a French company and Mr. Gounon a Frenchman, may also explain these weird statements, underlining the xenophobic sentiments in MP Charlie Elphicke's anti-France campaigns during his attempts to take over the Port of Dover.
That a politician, in this case Charlie Elphicke, should be trying to use his post as MP to take over the Port of Dover, while using xenophobic statements and campaigns, and claiming that a ferry operator in Dover is attempting to drive the other ferry operators out of business, is serious stuff.
If you really believe that anyone in Government is going to buy that, to then hand over the Port to a politician co-founder of DPPT, then dream on!
