Quite right, Richard, I've never aimed at any sort of control over Dover's Port.
Control of the Port was never up for public consultation, and I've never disputed DHB's status nor asked for any of its members to step down.

Let's just hope this doesn't get dragged into a circular argument.
The ongoing dispute in that respect is DPPT challenging DHB.
I'm merely involved in following up the local regeneration aspect of the consultation, and I hope that no-one running the Port would be also running investments on regeneration of Town and District.

It's not a good idea for the local Community to run the Port, or for the Port to run the Community.
Anyway, it's hard to believe the Government would ever hand over the Port's governance to a platea of common people; they'd surely see to it that it is run by qualified people who are in contact with the DfT and the relevant Secretary of State.
Which is what DHB currently does.
