I hope you have an enjoyable read Alexander.

Just in case you still miss it:

DPPT is registered as a charity with HMRC, registered with and regulated by the FSA and complies with all the provisions of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965.

Directors are appointed for 3 year terms and can stand for re-election, if the membership re-nominates them (in the case of community directors), or be re-appointed ex oficio by their appointing body (in the case of DTC, DDC, KCC, MP, DDCC) for a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. This rule is slightly modified in the case of the MP, because the sitting MP for Dover and Deal, whoever he/she is, will always be on the Board of Directors of DPPT to represent the National Interest. Community Directors are nominated and elected by the membership of the DPPT and make just under half of board membership. The Chairman is nominated and elected by the Board from among its membership. No payments, other than reasonable expenses, are currently approved for Board Members. Board members of the DPPT cannot also be executives of the port.
