> It's 1896 and four girls are in their first year at Girton College Cambridge . It's the first college for ladies just outside the city . They anxiously await the vote by the University to see if they will be allowed to gain a degree .
Based on the true story of the events that took place in Cambridge and the Blue Stockings riots of that year Dover Youth Theatre are delighted to present BLUE STOCKINGS by Jessica Swale at The Roundhouse Theatre Dover Discovery Centre, on Thursday 24 Nov and Fri 25th at 7.30pm .
A cast of 14 Senior Drama Students ( on the threshold of third level education themselves ) bring this play - first presented in Shakespeare's Globe in 2013 to life. Tickets are £8 and £5 for students. Call 07703 207878 . Brian Flood of Dover Transport Museum has kindly lent us an original ladies bicycle which will appear in the production.
