As well as the inevitable increase in fly tipping I wonder how many will do as we will, chargeable stuff will now go in the wheelie bin instead of doing the usual tip run.

Fly tipping by small traders increased a year or so ago when the minimum charge for dumping trade waste at the tip went up from £5.80+VAT to £58+VAT.

You used to be able to pay for small amounts (100kg was the minimum), now the minimum charge covers up to 1 tonne.

They was interviewing someone from the KCC on tv the other day and when asked about the charges he said there was no evidence to suggest that the charges would cause an increase in flytipping. What planet are these idiots on?
