    She was built in 1955 at Swan Hunters of Newcastle. Originally built as a cargo ship for Port Line and named Port Sydney. Converted to passenger ship in 1972 and named Akrotiri Express.

    1974 renamed Daphne until 1996.

    1996 renamed Switzerland until 2002.

    2002 renamed Ocean Odyssey

    2002 renamed Ocean Monarch until 2007

    2007 renamed Princess Daphne up to present.

    520 Passengers, 250 Crew.

    2 Doxford-Wallsend diesel engines giving 17 knots

    At 55 years of age a tribute to British shipbuilding of years gone by.
