  Just goes to show what potential there is from the cruise trade, Howard. Admittedly it's a seaonsal trade, but Dover could and should be doing so much more to capitalise on these visits. People have often moaned that Dover doesn't benefit from the "passing ferry trade", but these passengers are actually visiting the town. Yes, the cruise lines will offer them excursions further afield, but a good proportion of them will want to get a taste of the local culture and do some shopping. A long, hard look at how the town markets itself is long overdue.
