Here is the DDC info....

LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS
On Saturday 8 September, the Last Night of the Proms 2012 will be shown live from the Royal Albert Hall on the Big Screen at the Live Site in Dover's Market Square, starting at approximately 7.30pm.
This event is one of two major screenings taking place at the Live Site this weekend, with the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympic Games being shown live from 8.30pm on Sunday 9 September.
The Market Square will be decorated on both days with Olympic and Paralympic dressing and additional seating will be provided for both of these events. Seating is limited, so bring along a chair and a picnic and enjoy the show!
Please note that all times are approximate as these are live events

did any of our members go to watch this and/or the closing ceremony of the paralympics?
there seemed to be plenty of seats and bean bags put out.

I watched both but in the comfort of my own home.
The Proms were great and even had some of the medal winning athletes on the stage, I enjoyed the closing ceremony until the Cold Play concert and ended up by turning the sound right down.

Coldplay - lift music for the masses.
Are they still actually screening brain candy on the giant telly? I thought that it might be dismantled.
I can guarantee that there will be no more than ten people watching the proms in the market square come the last night. Those that do obviously have nothing better to do but each to their own.
By the way, how is that regeneration of the town going?

this is the one area where the games organisers slipped up, instead of this cold plate or whatever they could have hired the "forum fab four", ray on strings, neil as the percussion section, keith on the spoons and last but not least brian with his tuneless whistle.
naturally i would have been delighted to act as manager and roadie for them.
