  a new cat has been installed at number 10 to deal with possible vermin.
  
  good to see a tradition resurrected, the iron lady adopted a stray that lasted for many years, named humphrey after the "yes minister" character.
  
  eventually cherie blair evicted the resident moggy on hygiene grounds when her husband gained office in 1997.
  
  larry is a scraggy stray that will lend a bit of real lfe to the prime minister's residence.

  Lets hope Larry the cat CANNOT tell the difference between the rodent rat ,and Homo Sapien rat, should be quite interesting in No 10!!

  The thing that suprises me is that there were rats in the area to start with, I would have expected the poison bait to be laid on a regular basis. I bet it is now!!!!!
  
  Having seen the pictures of Larry by no means could you call him a "scraggy cat", he obviously wanted his privacy yesterday and showed exactly how he felt about reporters with his claws.

  if they really wanted to get rid of unwanted rodents they could have hired my one for a week, mind you the bird population would have been wiped out too.

  My now 17yr old moggy was a true vermin exterminator, rats being left just outside the back door but he never has never shown much interest in birds thank goodness. I often wondered if this was because we used to keep ducks and knew they were off limit .
