Large Red Damselfly

  Found this Large Red Damselfly floating in my pond. It seems to have had problems emerging/shedding skin and got an eye stuck.
  

  

  
  
  

  

  
  
  Fished it out with a stick and, with a bit of assistance, it finally got free.
  

  

  
  After a few minutes resting and cleaning itself (see above) it flew away.

  The damselfly and dragonfly are like so many people beautiful from a distance but just plain ugly up close.

  Beautiful, lucky you. Well done with the photo.
  Perhaps Paul will look out for the blue dragonfly I used to see over the puddle on the flat roof in the car park opposite.
