    I had an email from Kent Highways about it:

    Emergency Road Closure - Laureston Place, Dover - 30 January 2014 (Dover)
    It has been necessary to close Laureston Place, Dover from 30 January 2014 for up to 21 days.
    The road will be closed at in the vicinity of 11 Laureston Place.

    There will be no access for through traffic between the junctions with Castle Hill Road and Victoria Park.
    The alternative route is via Castle Hill Road and Victoria Park.

    This is for the safety of the public due to a collapsed embankment.
    St Mary's Church of England Primary School are aware of the closure and have secured the gates that open onto Laureston Place. Parents are being informed to use the access to the school from Ashen Tree Lane.
