    well now lets muddy the waters a bit more lol;

    You will all know Over the past 20 years or so iv been a great supporter/member of the labour party, i left approx 3 years ago, one of the reasons being the woman only shortlist.

    for my part i sent a letter to ed milliband and the local party on my strong views and how it will destroy labours chances of taking out charlie boy, and ed getting into number 10.

    approx 2 years ago i sent a letter to the local party and never got a reply,
    and so this time i sent one also to ed.

    i recieved a reply from katherin buckingham the labour parties national compliance officer, where she stated;
    thankyou for your letter to ed ragarding all womens shortlists i am responding on his behalf.

    the national executive committee of the labour party is resonsible for deciding which places will select candidates via an all women shortlists. They do this after regional consultation with the local party.

    On this occasion the N.E.C. decided that all women shortlist would be used to select the parliamentary candidate in dover and deal, you may know that the local party selected a candidate in the last week.

    so you can see the labour party is to push ahead with an imposed candidate
    and let me be clear, theres no one more than me that wants rid of this present govt.
    but, for john or a few others to say this lady would have been selected whether it was an all women shortlist or not, sadly we will never know.
    and if the labour party were that confident then why have the women only shortlist in dover if they felt they would win anyway?

    i think labour has shot itself in the foot
