    Dont you understand the costs involved in cancer treatment in respect of my wife alone? The initial breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, the secondary brain tumours 3 years later and 11 months of terminal illness thereafter. None of it paid for by the NHS, apart from GP referral. Multiply that by all the patients cared for in private hospitals paid for by the insurance they, or their employers, pay and you have a massive burden lifted off the taxpayer and the NHS - leaving more resources to cover treatment for those who do not have private cover.

    The cost of private heath insurance is increasing by the way - the reason is the availablility of the life extending drugs NICE are not allowing on the NHS and are available to those who go private. I hope that changes soon, its simply wrong.
