Howard - I want a better health provision for all and the NHS is just not good enough despite the commitment of its staff and it needs reform. Not extremist at all, silly comment that.
You really dont understand PME Howard- my wife received superb treatment at The Chaucer for her cancer on her employer funded PME (she worked for DDC). She died in that hospital after 11 months of treatment and never being a burden on taxpayers or the NHS.
You owe me and everyone with private medical cover plus all the excellent staff who work in private hospitals an apology for your disgraceful slurs on private patients and private hospitals. Rich hypocondriacs indeed.
Dave1 - of course those of us who pay for private health insurance pay twice, that is why tax relief on premiums is justified. Also we who pay these premiums and also contribute to the NHS, are fully aware that private does not cover all contingencies, that is why no-one sensible suggests any kind of opt-out. The private and state sector can be complimentary and the more people take up PME means overall increases in the resources devoted to health, it leaves more dosh available to improve key NHS services for all of us and specially for thos who cannot afford PME.
