18:0384244Nothing if we are canny. The "oxygen of publicity" will only feed this guy and others like him. Ignore him and he will wither away.

Of course the freedom of speach brigade will post i'm sure
but thens theres the stirring up racial tensions which is realy all this guy is about.

18:1284246the bloke seems misguided more than hateful, i think the home secretary should allow him in but someone has to explain to him what the english defence league are really like.
i doubt that the man knows much about them and is being manipulated.

08:5984311Its an odd thing..the English Defence League have asked this clear bigot to come and talk to them about the Muslim faith. Clearly this is a guy who knows nothing about the Muslim faith, which we have learnt from his ravings and weird outpourings, so why doesnt the English Defence League ask a Muslim to come along and give the same lecture and drop this oddball pastor notion....maybe then they would learn something.
But perhaps they dont want to learn..they would probably rather be inflamed by a guy who states things like
"The Muslims want to turn Buckingham Palace into a Mosque!"
"If HMQueen doesnt become a Muslim she would be forced to leave the country!"
all proposterous stuff.

you must admit the bloke could provide a few laughs and make the e.d.l. look rather silly.
reading up on him he sounds a right crook, all the congregation have to work 40 hours for free making furniture that he flogs for "church" funds.
they sussed him out in germany forcing him to return to the states.

16:1684384Well yes it will be interesting to see how this one turns out. I believe freedom of speech comes with a responsibility, but some people are not prepared to adhere to restraints or responibility of any kind. This guy Terry Jones seems to be one of those. He sent the whole world into a spin recently when he wanted to burn the koran as we know. a very reckless gesture which would have cost lives.
As a sweeping notion let me just add that if Hitler had been denied access to free speech and mass media coverage, we might have saved ourselves a war in which many many people died.

16:2984389the e.d.l. have just announced that his reverance will not be speaking at any of their meetings because they wish to disassociate themselves from someone who is homphobic and racist.
couldn't make it up!!
