    So quite substantial amounts allowed from within the European Union but shopping outside the EU is not recommended unless essential. You have to pay VAT on anything over £18 if shopping outside the EU and customs duty as well as VAT on anything over £135.

    I have only printed a part of the press release above as it was very much longer. But it should prove useful to anyone considering shopping abroad...it pays to know the limits otherwise you are penalised.
