  Well Sid, whatever you might think about that famous speech (always taken out of context and unfairly demonising him), he was one of the great parliamentary intellects.
  
  I met him during the referendum campaign, I was for a yes vote and he against. I remember being stood in a circle with him after a public meeting discussing the issue, he was very sweaty I remember, this is what I remember most about that encounter. On Europe he is now shown to have beeen dead right and I, along with all who supported the Yes campaign were wrong.
