Last nights LRCF meeting was well attended with at least 60 people in the audience, with many voicing their concerns in the Q & A session that followed the presentation. The CEO for DDC Nazeem Aziz was in attendance to answer these questions, but unfortunately although very co-operative, he didn't seem to have answers to many of the questions that were coming from the floor. The one positive answer he gave was with regard to Morrisons, that it was definite, with the expected date of completion towards the end of November this year.

Inevitably there were many questions about the DTIZ development which has been going on now for at least 11 years, Mr Aziz pointed out that he has been in his position for 5 years now and in his view there will not be an answer to the outcome of the development for at least another 18 months. He said that the way forward is largely dependent on ASDA/Walmart, but that we are closer now than we have ever been before.

There was a lot of discussion covering many familiar topics with regard to improving Dover and moving forward. When the expected date of 2035 for completion of Dover's regeneration was mentioned, an audible gasp from the audience was heard.... a particularly poignant moment.
