Unfortunately I doubt Dover will ever be seen as an attractive rich town in the same way as Sandwich or Deal. So many lovely old buildings have gone either through the war or poor planning in the past.
Deal beach area is attractive and easily accessed while we have a very busy road that is only there to serve the port and makes our beach really difficult to visit by pedestrians. Sandwich is just old fashioned and quaint and relatively quiet. It a shame there is so little to encourage visitors into the centre of Dover it is just a place to pass through, that is assuming the outskirts are not just a lorry parking area to the detriment of those living anywhere near.
