Kent Miners Festival
- 27 August 2010 14:2167414Below is the Timetable for the Bus run from Dover to the Kent Miners Festival on Monday 30th August.
The Festival is on for two days Sunday /Monday 29/30 with lots to do and see over both days.
Sunday is more of a youth and sport day with dancers, acrobats, junior Tug-o-War and Speed Stacking with two british champions giving demonstrations and the chance for participation with 4 under 10 categories.
Monday is more of a nostalgia day with Miners and Friends Re-union adult Tug-o-War, Boxing and the reintroduction of our Kent Community Coal Queen and Princess.
Over both days we have Funfairs, exhibitions, charities stunt cycles and our new addition, Your Health Your NHS Marquee offering expert help and advice to our visitors. This is a free community event, free to enter free to park and even a free ride in for some lucky visitors. We will be selling programmes at £3.00 each that we hope you will buy and help us to continue putting this Festival on for many years to come?

We got our modest grant for Tilmanstone village hall to have a new cooker, sink and heater. There were certainly a lot of voters there.---------------------------------------------------

Thanks for your support and pleased you got yours as well, very worthy. As I said in another thread, these "You Decide" events are a much better and I believe fairer way of sharing these funds. 11 is too young, that showed with the problems that occurred at the last venue.
