11:3672281the issue of profligate spending has reared it's head again at county hall.
this time the issue is over a dinner that was arranged for legal services staff at a 4 star grade 1 17th century manor house,
cost £.2398.00.
added to that the costs of attending two award ceremonies in london cost a total of £.8672.00.
the fact that awards have been won suggests that they are doing an excellent job, do members think that it is money well spent or should they include celebratory meals as something to be cut in these cash poor times.?

13:1072290If I or anyone else on this forum does an excellent job we get a very small gift and a thankyou if we are lucky, value £20 at the most.
£11,000 on three jollies seems excessive. This is what happens when there is no one to put a stop to the spendthrifts that appear to be in public bodies.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

13:3872292As with most of these stories, what is being reported by the KM is from AUGUST LAST YEAR !!!
Things have certainly changed where I work and I am sure in KCC belts have been tightened - it is what happens since the spending cuts were impending that matters.....
Been nice knowing you :)

16:3372335i should have added in the original post that there were 90 legal staff there, when you consider the venue £20 odd quid a head seems to me like good negotiation from the council.
