Just the coastal border to sort out now!
As a true Man of Kent I wonder how many others have this ‘claim to fame’ as there now seems a glut of DFE‘s, especially with the recent influx.

Forza the People’s Republic! PRK sounds good. We need a flag, currency and a seat at the United Nations forthwith.

It's great, isn't it? All this red tape we've done away with since quitting the EU.

The day after the referendum, my senior management wanted (another) briefing on the changes that Brexit would bring. I see I started by describing the status quo as "Dover and Calais have pretty much the same fiscal significance as Dartford and Thurrock, ie. next to none." Ouch.

So you're to blame for the delusional Mr Gove then, eh?

Sadly I'm just not the kind of genius who can create lorry parks across Kent where you can get "customed-up" on the one hand, and a scheme whereby you can't enter Kent unless you're already "customed-up" on the other. Try Joseph Heller, or the KCC guy who invented a cycle lane occupying half of the road without spotting that it would reduce road capacity for other users by 50%.

There was a period in the mid nineties that KCC was so “up the EU”with it’s Brussels office suites that it thought it was delivering foreign policy for Kent. Delusional.

Apparently there is no truth in the rumour that the new Kent Access Permit will be known as a 'kermit'. This is because the idea that is was dreamed up by a load of muppets has been rejected by Michael Gove.

DPRK's already taken; though conditions aren't dissimilar. Perhaps twin Maidstone with Pyongyang? Chairman Roger will unite us, and the marshals will sort out anyone who's not clapping.

Curiously, there was a time when inbound truckers wishing to go on to inland clearance were met at the "Forwards" counter by a Kermit hand-puppet saying "Lenham?"

This is now essential. As a minimum, we'll need offices in Brussels, New York, Geneva and Vienna.

I am on the Kennet and Avon canal at Bradford on Avon.
I know the CRT has been moaning about the amount of plastic waste floating in the water but I didn't realize they were unlicensed live-a-boards left over from the Glastonbury festival.
Today I have passed floating skips flying BLM flags, Extinction Rebellion flags (all powered by diesel engines! What's that about Greta you doom Goblin?) And finally an enormous 'Palestinian' flag!
Many of them have window stickers proclaiming the 'Peoples Republic of Kennet and Avon'?
I feel I am descending some sort of watery rabbit hole ......

It seems the extremist nutters are alive and happily polluting the canals as well as the world.
