Re post #5. I agree Captain that it's rather a 'path' than a path, but it's probably the best that could be done given the predominance of the perverted metal and rubber beast in our economy and culture. Westwards of Buckland Bridge the roads are a little quieter in any case, and once cyclists have respectfully wheeled their way 'twixt church and mill, they can remount in Crabble Avenue and be on their way.
In the case of Kearsney Abbey, my only gripe is that nothing's been made of the proximity of Kearsney Station: it's only 4 minutes from Dover Priory and cheaper than the bus. Yet I can't see any provision for making the journey from the station to the park safe: at the moment you take your life in your hands crossing the Alkham Road.
