I visited the park for the first time at the weekend and it is ace. I can't believe how big it is. The grandkids had a whale of a time and I am definitely taking my mum there next time she visits.

A jewell in the crown of DDC .My back garden Yet I cannot get money spent on it .The lake walls need refurbishing .
It is very beautiful, and well worth investing in. I can only get there infrequently, and each time I visit I am startled anew by the calm beauty of the place.

I spent most of my childhood in Kearsney Abbey (well, we did have a house to live in as well, but you get my drift).
A truly magical place. I adore it.

Seems to me there were quite a few of us used to play there! We used to have wonderful adventures there - not in the more manicured areas, but across the river where it was more wild.

Sue you are right, the lake walls have needed doing for a few years now. What a wonderful place it is though, so pretty and natural. Spent many happy hours there in the past with my children and now my grandchildren.

It was one of my haunts as a youngster too, along with Russel Gardens and Bushy Ruff.
