Just been watching the live broadcast meeting held yesterday. The subject very dear to many who live in East Kent. The location of stroke units. The recommendation was seven in favour and six against .The Chairman voted for the recommendation.
I would have thought an amendment could have been put.Considering the problem with access especially from the Thanet area.
Our roads in this part of Kent are not good .

Those in Thanet do not realise how lucky they are having a proper hospital on their doorstep while so many of us have miles to travel to either of the major hospitals that cover this area.
Heaven help anyone who is not quite ill enough to need an ambulance or needs an outpatient appointment with no car or easy direct public transport available.

Problem is not all services can be provided at every hospital
But we the three other hospitals always in consultation times campaign
Where as Buckland doesn't get this
I attended a public meeting on hospitals and all three other hospitals had leading specialists fighting for each hospital
Buckland had no one and wasn't even mentioned

I think we all know Buckland is no longer a hospital it is a glorified clinic, an actual hospital has 24 hour doctors and overnight stay beds.
It makes sense to have centralised hospitals that provide state of the art medical care because of the known lack of medical staff and the huge cost of equipment etc. Having said that these top hospitals have to have excellent infrastructure so the public can easily reach them and they should be more central to those in their catchment area.

That was my point Sue also a long way to Thanet for everyone else even if it is by ambulance.

It's a 'Keefism' Reg!
You might notice in the young that their brain works much slower than they can process speech, so their talk is filled with 'like' and 'innit' so their brain can catch up and provide words.
With Keef his brain works much faster than he can type and on occasion his wisdom comes out as gobbledygook.

It's just poetic heightening. Put it in Macbeth's mouth and it makes perfect sense:
Banquo: What say you, Good Sir?
Macbeth: But we the three other hospitals always in consultation times campaign.
Banquo: Aye. How far is't call'd to Forres?

As I am being encouraged to contribute.
I will respond by saying we all make mistakes and it does not matter so long as we understand what is meant and we do not take offence when that mistake is mentioned.

I think that was the point, JH. Well, mine anyway. Thankfully, there are many other uses for language than communication.

Probably Jan's correct ,it is always said that transport should be in place to the three main hospitals
I think Buckland will continue to be an after thought until elections are in place .
On KC C i think it's unhealthy for any party to have big majorities
But not many people believe in local govt these days
