Not sure how many forumites remember this dazzling blonde haired much lipsticked singing icon of the 60's & 70' who appeared on many a TV show of that era has sadly passed away.
Kathleen O'Rourke (Kathy Kirby), singer: born Ilford, Essex 20 October 1938 died 19 May 2011.

Yes I remember Kathy Kirby - Secret Love was her biggest hit I believe.
I used to think she was great back then, but I was only a teenager - must had a thing about older women ! Proper curves and shiny lip-gloss.
Howard must have known her quite well - both coming from Ilford.

lol!! Roger Im not sure if we should be admitting to knowing Kathy Kirby and others who have recently shuffled off this mortal coil...it gives the oul age away!
Yes I remember her too although only vaguely. It was a long time ago now. She was a bit of a Marilyn Munroe lookalike and she also had something of a tragic air too as I remember.

What a star-I remember seeing a report of her upstaging Eartha Kitt at a charity show in Copenhagen during the 70's. Miss Kitt had the right hump!
Never give up...

She sung the theme to Adam Adamant Lives! Anyone remember that? It's before my time but what remains of the series is available on DVD. Gerald Harper appearing as a Victorian adventurer who was revived in the swinging 60s to fight crime, it was a BBC attempt to emulate The Avengers but at a fraction of the cost.

I remember the series Phil, although it wasn't particularly good or memorable; didn't know Kathy sang the theme song.

I remember watching the series when I were a wee small 'un, I didn't realise that Kathy Kirby sang the theme tune either, R.I.P. Kathy
