Auctioneer`chat`,which increased the bidding some what, said both Ian Fleming and Noel Coward, frequent visitors to
the hotel had their photo`s taken leaning against one or both the lamp-posts.Do your achives have such photo`s?
Thanking you in anticipation for any search...........

I have sent an e-mail to a contact at St Margaret's who should know about this, and will let you know shortly.
We don't have such a photo in our collection.

Hello Reg, I have drawn a blank, Ruth Nicol says you had already been in touch with her and she could not offer anything.
Has Paul Isles been asked, he is in contact with a lot of people and may know something. Also Dover Museum?
It sounds as though such a photo might have been in the local paper, but without a date it is like a needle in a haystack.
Would a letter to the Dover Express be helpful?

Reg, the Duck Inn at Pett Bottom was a haunt of Ian Fleming's and they used to have (in the days of John and Ulla Lang) some old pictures of him. You might try there.

usually you can find the answer to most things here, even when a member does not have the full information they will point you in the direction of someone who can.
