Just back from the highlands
- 12 May 2016 02:02313571Yes we have just got back again from a great stay with Mr and Mrs Cooper in the highlands of Scotland I even helped out in a very very small way in the Scotland Elections Mrs Cooper played a big part as a returning officer but Andy and myself took her to her post with the voting boxs at 0530 hrs in the morning of the election which was right in the middle of nowhere and then pick her up and the sealed boxs back to a main pickup hall then they where taken by lorry to the main counting hall that was at about 2230hrs at night and we got back to Golspie about 2430hrs so a very long days work for Mrs Cooper and Andy with me and the dog going along in the back of the car.
It took 15 hrs to get back home last night we left Golspie at 0500hrs in the morning and got back to Dover at 2100hrs last night must stay the UK roads are full of roadworks and potholes and rubbish, time some thinking was done major about the potholes and all the rubbish at the sides of the roads some even in Scotland - 14 May 2016 09:52313616Mr Cooper runs a very good B@B AS YOU CAN SEE ON HIS WEBB page Mrs Cooper and her mum run the shop .If you go that way great stay for Golf to with no less then four clubs around there.BEST BOOK before you go because they get full up. Train stops at the end of the long garden they have it has only one track and a great views as you go a long in it, you can fly there takes about 1hour then train or hire a car to get you to Andys B&B over looking the sea in the front and the mountains from the back and just off the 18th hole of the Golf club. Great place to stay we will be going back soon, if you go by car like we do it will take a very long time to get there but again nice views to be seen on the way it takes me 15 hours to get there but you can stop over night some where if you wish.

- 14 May 2016 10:53313620It is not so cold as you think .in fact sometimes it is better up there then in Dover still snow on the mountains tops but the weather most of the time was good.
- 20 May 2016 07:49313791Mr Coopers B&B AT Golspie is going great guns only been open less than a year but getting filled up most nights by walkers ,workers ,lorry Drivers,must say it is a great place to stay if you are going to that part of Scotland we are off again soon once we have saved the funds to get there.If my legs were better it would be golf for me with no less then four clubs around him you could not go wrong also sea fishing and F/water fishing it has got the lot good place for taking photos of the wildlife and birds. get yourself up there.And Mrs Coopers QUIT Shop is great for the sowers and Quiters she also runs a class if you need it .and they take dogs in if you wish your pet to come with you and there is miles of sand along the coast line and behind you the hills.and you can spend a whole day in the Castle and its grounds,The one track train stops at the back of Mr COOPERS long back garden and that train will take you all round the coastline and to the city of Inverness.And this time of the year still light at 2300hrs from 0400 in the morning.Guest 698 and Guest 649 like this
