    you did well there, whilst not wishing to take sides, you jump in with both feet!!! of course mainly to support one party
    and thats fine and dandy.

    Now back to your question sadly the majority of cllrs(sure iv gone through this before but will again)
    from both parties are happy to allow the officers to run the council,
    now to explain this a little further;
    To run the council it would be difficult to do it on a part time/ad hoc basis, bearing in mind also that many of the cllrs hold down full time jobs so therefore even if there were a move in this direction(which there wont be) council wouldn't be able to afford it.

    So the officers fill the void.

    So it'snot a political thing, both main parties are happy to be officer led
