- 24 July 2012 07:20184306A huge army descended on Jubilee Way last night. A mass of trucks and machinery all working frantically with lights flashing into the night. Whether they have finished it all I dont know but there were plenty of guys there doing their thing. They blitzed it.
The half expected traffic problem didnt seem to materialise. All was fairly quiet.
Good job it wasnt the day before...saw the figures on the harbour notice board last night while looking at the workings through binoculars...13,336 cars passed through the Port on Sunday. This figure does NOT include coaches and buses and trucks...add them on and you get...well quite a mass of people passing through. How it all works so well I just dont know.

TerryQuis custodiet ipsos custodes? - 24 July 2012 11:17184338Went up that way an hour or so ago. The metal bump is still there but there are two new areas of tarmac laid right across the road. I thought the idea was that they would remove the bumps...came across those bumps on the motorbike the first time without previously noticing the warning signs..I became airborne for quite a considerable time I can tell you! If I had of stayed airborne any longer I would have been considered a danger to the Olympic movement and probably would have been shot down by surface to air missiles. I didnt do it twice..the next time i was ready.

was trying to catch my dentures in the left hand while holding on to the airborne handlebars with the other, with several packs of Tesco sausages streaming in the wind behind me...not my finest hour..
Why didnt someone tell me the ramp was there..never saw the signs.
