much fun in market square today as people ignored the miserable weather and joined in the celebrations.
an excellent real life punch and judy show entertained regally.

good to see so many people enjoying themselves in market square, hopefully there will be more family events staged there.

the organisers laid on plenty of tables and chairs,so if you are looking in plenty of time to get down there and join in the fun.

Well done Dover!
I have just had a stroll along my closed-off-for-the-jubilee street and it was slightly busier on the way back, every cafe had a stall out and people were actually queuing at one food stall, but no 'fun' did I see and no opportunities for any either.
Had the Sun been shining that fountain would certainly have been missed.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

good point about the fountain tom, must cost a fortune continually turning it off and on and cordoning it off.
i would imagine that there are street parties all over london today and not enough entertainers to go around.
it was like that on millenium night.

I was there around 1.30pm by which time Punch and Judy show was finishing .I iced buns and had a ago making pom poms .By the time the next act arrived most children had gone home .I stayed chatting to visitors .What a shame that most cafes were closed .Where is the Community spirit .
well done to the DDC staff for arranging the event .
I then went to Aylesham to a street party .Bunting up acrooss the street all houses decorated I was told approx 400 people were there .I had a lovely time real community spirit
In the morning I was at Sandwich for their Civic Jubilee Service .The music was spendid .Bunting up in the streets and around The GuildHall .
A long day but lovely .
Off to The Town Hall this afternoon .

good point from susan about the cafes, can only assume that they decided that everyone would bring their own grub.

If they're not open, they can't take money; I've always been surprised that more cafes don't open, even on a Sunday when the cruise ships are in.
As Sue said, well done DDC staff for helping with this.
Don't know who's responsibility it was for not putting up any bunting - could have been left all summer, it would have brightened up the Town.
