    Richard, yes it was used as a medium bomber in the Battle of Britain but it served throughout the war in a number of roles and was one of the best German airframes. It was a nightfighter, a maritime patrol aircraft equipped with torpedoes and depth charges, a reconnaissance aircraft, a dive bomber etc.
