I have managed to get in three sessions with the model this past week so not a massive progress.
I have however laid down the base coat for the interior and painted on the detail. Pics below:
I next have to apply a very thin oil paint wash for two purposes, to get rid of the 'newly painted' look and the oil paint will collect in the nooks and crannies of the detail giving an appearance of shadow and depth. I will then need to add the highlights using what we call drybrushing first with the base colour mixed 50% with white, then very lightly with white itself. After that I need to show wear and tear using an alluminium metaliser, drybrushing again lightly in places where it is exposed to light wear and more heavily in places of high wear. I will provide photos when that is done.
After all that and before I can close the fuselage I will need to add seatbelts made from photo etched metal and test fit the parts. I hope to get that far by next week but it all depends of how much time I get and how many sessions!!!
Also the bomb are primed and that identified flaws to correct so I have used some filler and will sand this down soon to create a smooth finish. This process may need to be repeated until it is exact.
