  Wasn't he known (by Muhamed Ali) as "Smokin" Joe Frazier ?
  
  I don't know him enough to say he was a nice guy Jacqui, but I'll take your word for it.
  Was it Joe Frazier and Ali who had that fight they called "Rumble in the Jungle", or was that George Foreman ?

  No Roger that was George Foreman.
  Yes he was known as "smokin' Joe" by a lot of people, particularly by Ali who started it.
  
  He was only 67 but developed liver cancer which killed him.
  I've seen him interviewed on tv and always thought that he was a very gentle man outside the ring.

  Ah yes I remember those great fights. Those days they use to show them LIVE on TV and for FREE. Sometimes they would come on in the wee small hours of the morning yet vast amounts of people stayed up to watch them.
  
  To some extent Boxing killed itself by not continuing to make those Heavyweight World Championship fights available to all.
  
  RIP Smokin Joe Frazier. A very pleasant fella indeed, unless you faced him across the canvas ring.

  It may be a generational thing, but I think Boxing has had it's day and it's not the one straight after Christmas.
