Jim Davidson Tour Cancelled.

The above picture shows one time comedian Jim Davidson on the BBC Newsnight programme recently talking up his new play. The play was about a racist bigotted comedian who may or may not have seen the error of his previous ways. This was how he described the play himself..they're not my words but his own. Clearly the whole theme of the production was autobiographical. It reeks and speaks of himself.
He wrote the play himself too, or so it seems, in conjuction with others anyway, and it was booked to do a national tour at premier theatres throughout the land. He presumably thought he would cash in on his out-dated notoriety while at the same time getting the message across that he may not always have been right in his previous portrayals of black people, women, homosexuals etc etc..remember his Chalky White!!??
Anyway, despite flogging this particualr play on the high brow Newsnight and probably on assorted other channels, this play has flopped big time. They couldnt give the tickets away I hear. Talk about flogging a dead career horse!
Anyway this should highlight the fact that despite some hints at contrition on Newsnight, dear oul Jim is very much yesterdays dogs dinner. There are murmurings and rumblings of future comebacks...but it is unlikely to happen.

but that said and to be fair
a number of entertainers lean towards one party or another

"Let's bomb Russia!", "Let's kick Michael Foot's stick away!" to thunderous applause as he gestured with those huge pointy hands. Quite unbelievable really, but very funny.
