The post you are reporting:
I used to work for Jessops at thier home branch in Leicester, that was when I had dark long hair and all my own teeth! The photographic market has changed beyond all reason, it is no longer about cameras/lenses/gadget bags etc. It's PC's, printers, inks and papers and so on. I wonder how many of us have(and use) a digital slr? Not many, it's compacts, phones now. Jessops was doomed years ago, it went cheap, and became a photographic supermarket, stack em high, sell em cheap!
Canterbury cameras must be rubbing thier in glee, now the only camera shop in town!
Sorry to see them go, but I can't remember when I last used them, I shop on line and use shops like Grays of Westminster for all my photographic needs. For what it's worth in another life I have mamaged camera shops in central London, Leicester and Bath. At least Frank Jessop and Stanley Kharms have made a bob or two out of it!
