  The fields of Jersey depict this seasons Jersey Royal new potatoes being protected from the elements and birds by sheets of perforated plastic covering. The seedlings planted over the last 2 weeks across the island, mainly by a large travelling group of Polish farm workers, are covered until ready for picking.
  
  At certain times of the night the fields shimmer in the moonlight like giant skating rinks.
