Noticed in todays Mercury that Rev Michael Hinton's wife Jean died on Easter Sunday,Michael is a Former Head Teacher of the Boys Grammar School and of course author of the 100 min Bible, and the driving force behind the Fairtrade Scheme in Dover,Jean was a lovely quiet lady who always supported Michael and she will be sadly missed.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

RIP Jean, sounds like you were a lovely lady. I do remember Rev Hinton but don't know much about him, another well respected Dovorian gone
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Oh dear, oh dear.
Our deep sympathies to Michael Hinton, and his family. I'm so very sorry to hear this, and I'm certain there will be many Dovorians indeed who will be supporting Mr Hinton at this time.
I sent a copy of the 100-minute Bible to a dear friend and mentor in the USA. There will be people across the world whose lives have been touched and who will be sending their sympathies, I'm sure.

Mrs Hinton is, and now sadly was, a very close neighbour of mine in that the Hintons live a few floors below me in my block. I was unaware that Mrs Hinton had passed away until I saw it in The Mercury. Its quiet in that way around here.
I met the Hintons the very first night I moved in here all those years ago. Rev Hinton was leaving the block and I asked him, me being a newby, how did I turn on the radiators. He took the trouble to go back all the way to his flat even though heading to a church meeting at great haste, to give me the appropriate key. I still have it, its the only one I have. It was a kind thing to do as you know what its like...heading somewhere in a hurry and someone asks you something tedious.
I met Mrs Hinton that night when I went back to Rev Hintons flat to get said key. She was a small and gentle woman and I had regular contact with her after that as she was a member of the Residents Committee who keep us all on the straight and narrow around here, reckless group that we are.
I spoke to her just a few weeks back in the entrance hallway where she was waiting to be collected by car. She was looking frail.
Obviously the Hintons are and were very active members of the community...contributors on a wide scale, and thats all you can ask from any citizen. I was sad to hear of her passing.

It is a sad loss the community I met Jean many times, and although she was a very quiet lady, once you got to know her she filled you with charm, and had a loving heart.
She has together with Rev Hinter been a fighter for many causes and been right behind Michael in his many campaigns.
You often find Jean there standing next to him, fully supporting him.
The fairtrade campaign was one that jean was always fully behind and its so pleasing to see that flourishing as it is, she would be proud.
My thoughts are with michael

Very sad news indeed, Mrs Hinton was a lovely lady. I've met her several times over the years I have lived here. Reverend Hinton will be lonely without her, she will be sadly missed.
