Well I thought that speech from Lynne Featherstone was very odd indeed. It was like she was viewing the world from down the end of a long dark tunnel. Some people, particularly fellow politicians, have said it was just ridiculous and who could argue. Blaming men for existing or for being out there earning a crust for centuries seems highly odd. The doers and go-getters always make mistakes, no matter what sex they are, but thats good. Mistakes are good as then we know people are pushing the boundaries. The wise ones dont repeat the mistakes.
Featherstone was trying to champion womens causes but the whole thing misfired in the dullest speech imagineable.. a real substitute for mogadon.
But the very same day Chris Patten, one time top Tory politician, now governer of the BBC said there wasnt enough women in top posts on TV etc. I wondered what these people Patten and Featherstone are up to, are they looking for an easy headline...
I was amused by Chris Pattens remarks as he clearly doesnt watch his own channel..I had just watched the News read by a woman, followed by the weather read by a woman, followed by the local news read by a women, followed by the local weather read by a woman, followed by the football presented by a woman..are there any geezers out there!?
